Carrying on with adding some more stuff to my blog , my next hobby other than making and playing games is the awesome photoshop , where I've made some cool stuff the last new years , check em out !

Most of them are Warhammer 40,000 themes as its a great universe  and my favourite , while also having lots of cool art , 1,2,5 are all from Dawn of war 2 (favourite game). 2 was just a model that I changed a little to fit into the style. One of my first sigs was 4 , classic Iron man art right there !

Lastly is the front cover of the upcoming game Space Marine , added some cool splatter affects. Will be sure to add some more to the list when I have some time to make some.

Dawn of War 2 : Chaos Rising

After getting Dawn of War 2 (Which I recommend getting) I just had to jump in on the next expansion to the Dawn of war series (Which Relic are well known for , with doing it for the first Dawn of war games with good sucess). I was happy to hear that one of my favourite races in the Warhammer 40,000 universe Chaos space marines would be the new race to make its way into Dawn of war 2. Chaos space marines if you didnt know already are put it simple crazy , blood lusting maniacs that love to kill for their beloved gods (of course they do it in their own different ways , Khorne a God that seems to bring out the anger and madness in everyone or Nurgle who likes to use the good old fashion decay and disease approach , last but not least is slaanesh the god of lust and perfection )

There was so much Relic could do with Chaos and the different takes on each of the Gods , their methods of war and the warriors used , but I was mostly hoping that Chaos would fit into the amazingly addictive Dawn of war 2 multiplayer. However I was slightly worried that Chaos would be too similar to Space Marines as they are quite similar in some of their weapons , vechicles etc. Chaos Rising was the decided name of the game and for a new expansion was a new lead designer , the much loved Johnny Ebbert whose enthusism i totally love and in with Daniel Kading , who honestly I know little about !

After seeing many previews and further details of the game I was dedicated to buying the game and with hearing how the campaign has changed to a more linear approcah compared to the last game where you trotted around and having lots of side missions to choose from , although they got very generic and boring after the 5th one. Hearing more units had been added for the multiplayer as well as more maps and modes , the game was sounding and looking better than ever.

I was expecting alot from the game and how chaos would be represented in the game , as compared to the lovely shiny space marines Chaos are a little more insane and are a wild bunch as they were portrayed well in the previous Dawn of war with chaos voiceovers screaming "BLOOD , BLOOD FOR BLOOD GOD !!" and plently of insane laughter to go with it.

The campaign this time around as I mentioned is more linear but the missions are much more varied than what we had in DOW2. Missions vary from defence missions to full on assualts with some help from the Imperial Guard and other smaller missions into a very cool space hulk which im sure a few hardcore fans will be very pleased to see. I enjoyed the campaign in chaos rising more than the previous game as the missions were much more varied and the story was continally being driven foward without having to stop off and do too much "pointless" fighting so to speak.

There is a corruption meter to make the campaign that little more interesting as well , will you choose to be the righoues fighter and defend the imperium as best you can and keep true to the cause ? or do what I done which is dont give a crap about anyone else and bargain my soul for awesome weapons ! he choices you make throughout the game will also affect the final outcome of the game , so choose carefully.

Nontheless the campaign this time around is a good improvement from the previous game and builds well on the existing characters from the first installment , learning more about some of the characters history and background is cool as I do hate to see generic boring characters in games.

Now to my most anticpiated activity about Chaos rising which is of course the multiplayer. With the addition of another race the existing balance issues were put into question with chaos being added to the mix , and although they are a similar to space marines in some ways they still have their unique chaos abilities and some specials units like the daemon bloodthirsters or the mad cultists squads that set chaos apart from the shiny space marines.

Eldar , Space marines , Orks and Tyranids have also had an additional unit added to their roster list to add to the value of the expansion and to also make multiplayer that little more interesting. Overall and after some balance changes Chaos fit right in the competitive Multiplayer spirit and also adds another dynamic race into the game , all in all a very good expansion and Relic have learnt lessons from the previous game , lets see what the next expansion brings =).
